You know that feeling you get when you meet someone and you feel like you've known them all your life? That's the way I felt the moment I walked into Courtney and Mike's house to talk about photographing their wedding at Grounds For Sculpture (one of my favorite places in the entire world!). When she said she was planning to wear her cowboy boots I knew this was a match made in heaven and I had to shoot this wedding. I even promised to wear my boots, which I hadn't worn working a wedding since moving from Texas.
Unfortunately mother nature didn't feel like cooperating the day of the wedding and New Jersey, and much of the east coast, was hit by an epic storm. So many of our plans were set for outside and based on radar forecasts, we were not going to be able to get outside and play at all. The decision was rightfully made to hold the ceremony inside, but as you'll see we were able to take advantage of small breaks in the storm to get out and about in the park for many of our planned shots! Everyone got a little wet, but it was actually kind of fun overcoming the elements!
The party moved on to Eagle Ridge Country Club where all kinds of craziness ensued including, but not limited to, two groomsmen tying their shirts together to make a jump rope! It's no surprise that these two awesome people also have a ton of awesome friends and I'll never forget the fun we had and the adversity we overcame. Sincerely, Courtney and Mike are the greatest!
